Marketing and barter trade
All
businesses market their products and services from the word "go",
they market all over the place, some companies have more money than
others to carry out more elaborate marketing plans, while others embark
on guerilla marketing and engage in tit-for-tat promotions or price
cuts to slay the competition. These are probably some of the tactical
manouvers that a business owner would have employed or contemplated
employing at some point in their business.
Many businesses do not realise the marketing value-add barter trade can
bring to their business. An immediate marketing impact barter trade can
bring to a business when they join a business barter community like
Ozone, they are immediately marketing to a close knit captive
market.
The new member that joins Ozone is suddenly exposed to thousands of new
customers both in Singapore and other Ozone countries. This is the
ultimate trump card any business can play against its competitors by
being part of the ozone community. This effect is amplified in
Singapore, being an Asian country, where relationship comes before
business, by being part of a community, helps build strong relationship
bonds, that results in word-of-mouth marketing that is one of the
strongest marketing tool any business can harness.
In any form of marketing, we always want to
measure the return on investment. A comprehensive marketing campaign
for a consumer product or a training program (ie tangible and
intangible) do not come cheap. Both online and offline marketing
campaigns require dedicated efforts which all cost money. Many a time,
we may not be able to hit the bulls eye with our marketing efforts, and
thus not bringing in the much needed sales - causing a possible cash
crunch.
Achieving the dual purpose of marketing and maintaining a healthy cash
flow is not difficult with the use of barter. Barter trade allows
businesses to access marketing tools from copywriting, web, email and
viral marketing systems, graphic design and print without having to
sacrifice cash. But exchanging excesses in the business for the much
needed brand exposure.
An example would be a restaurant in the city. It does fairly well for
lunch, running at 80% capacity on weekdays, but operating only at 20%
in the evenings and nearly zero business on weekends. They still pay
rental, staff salaries, utility bills among others costs. Through
Ozone, this restaurant exchanges its vouchers for much needed email
marketing, sms marketing, magazine advertising, website design, Search
Engine Optimiziation, flyer printing and many other channels to promote
and market their restaurant as the place to wine and dine. In the
past a restaurant owner having invested a large portion of their
savings in the buidling of the restaurant do not have additional cash
to do all these. With a barter exchange like Ozone, where we are their
partner in helping them create opportunities for them to do what they
always wanted to do, but didn't have the cash to do it.
